Team Stats

Post by Burlingtonian »

I just joined up a couple of days ago and have created a team, currently with 4 users. In spite of being a brand new team, Folding@home stats show us ranked at 88150 of 248114. Is this because 88,000+ users signed up and didn't use their account or are there some other explanations?

Points accumulate much faster now compared to past efforts. It reflects the progress of Cpus and gpus in the past decade.
There are also lots if old teams with very few points and no active folders. So it's eady to pass a ton of teams and users quickly. Eventually everything evens out.

Folding a WU 15 years ago might get you 10 points, and take more than a day or two, there are many teams in the database that are that old and no longer active.

Thank you for the quick and informative replies. I am delighted to be part of the Folding@home family and hoping to get more computers online soon.
