Geforce 750 not detected in fresh Linux Mint install

I was previously a windows 7 user and had no problem with the same gpu. the only hardware change was a new clean SSD.
I have tried multiple paths to get the gpu to detect, including adding a gpu slot in the configuration window, initially and after trying three separate drivers, but it will not detect it. My current driver is Nvidia 440.64 from PPA graphics drivers.

Any help would be wonderful.

1) Be sure you have installed the proprietary drivers from the folks who built the chip on your GPU.
2) Be sure OpenCL is installed and available.
3) Reinstall FAHClient
4) Look at the beginning of FAH's log where it initially shows the ******SYSTEM*******.

The first run was the latest proprietary in the driver manager. Proprietary option has since been removed, only open source options are provided. OpenCL is installed, and was installed on all three attempts. Attempting a manual download of the latest proprietary driver listed on the Nvidia website returns a "characters do not exist" error while unpacking.

Your config file has <gpu v='false'/> and does not show a GPU slot. Can you try setting this to true after stopping your client and restarting your client?
