Client local, online, inactive

Post by AnonymusPlatypus »

Hello everyone!

I'm absoultely new here and English isn't my native language, so please bear with me... ^^'

I just loaded the FAH client today and tried to make it work while I'm doing some things afk, but it seems stuck in this local/online/inactive state. When I click in the work queue section I can see a countdown for a download saying "Next attempt", but as soon as it's down to zero it starts counting again instead of starting the download.

Computer Specs: Intel Core i9-99000KF @ 3.60 GHz, 16GB RAM, nVidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti
Network Connection: Cable internet through powerline adapter, Windows Firewall and Bitdefender AV Free (added an exception for both client folder and website)
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
Overclocked?: no
Stable?: yes
Software: FAHClient v7.5.1
WU details: none so far

Here's my log:

It's a question of Supply and Demand. Please be patient.
The FAH servers are overwhelmed with Donors trying to help. Nothing appears to be wrong on your end except maybe your drivers. Did you install the drivers from NVidia or are you using the ones supplied with your OS?

The Assignment Servers and Work Servers have been pretty overloaded last few weeks (you will see many similar threads/topics to yours in this forum) … Your log looks to be ok just the assignment server is busy … Be patient - I would expect you to get WUs before long … The countdown will get longer each attempt so as to not overload the severs with requests - if it gets too long (say over an hour) then pause the client for say a minute then restart folding and the countdown timer with reset.

The servers are very busy because of the large number of new users coming in the last couple of weeks. The "Could not get an assignment" message just means that you're having trouble getting through to the servers. Let the software keep trying and it should eventually get through.

I use GeForce Experience to make sure the graphic drivers are up to date, so it should be those from nVidia.
