What is it you're confused about?

I see you successfully completed & uploaded a work unit, but haven't been able to get another one yet. The servers are very busy right now, it's normal to have some failed attempts at downloading a work unit. Keep the software running & eventually it will get through.

New to this and have started completing work units, but, the interface isn't working for me it just flashes and doesn't allow me to select anything, the task manager has resources diverted but the interface isn't working I can see my details or log in information, can anyone advise how I fix this?

Hi Gareth and welcome to the forum,

I assume that Web Control is repeatedly flashing for you. I'm not sure what's happening there. I'd recommend trying to open that URL in a private window or in a different web browser and that may fix the issue. Another option is to find the Folding@home icon in the taskbar down by the click, right-click on it, and select Advanced Control. This will open the FAHControl tool, which is a similar front-end for the software on your PC.

I think we're not sure what you are confused about - the logs as a whole, or your client not doing any work?
If it is the latter, then it's because so many new people joined up that there's not enough work on the servers to give out (sometimes). Doesn't look like there's anything wrong on your end, there's at least one WU in the logs that was processed and uploaded.
Just keep the client running, it'll get new things to do eventually.

The Web Control flashing is a known issue in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (such as the new Edge.) It is mentioned in a FAQ. Anyway, the temporary solution is to clear your browser cache. Learn how to do this as you'll be doing it often. Using Incognito mode also works.

Never be embarrassed for asking a question !! … and personally I would much rather have someone ask a question over confusion when reading the guidance posts than ask a question that is answered in the guidance notes they haven't read :) … Welcome to Folding and Thanks for taking the time to read posts and participate in the forums.

My "Personal Thoughts" for anyone who happens to read this thread:

The post linked above is a really useful first point of information which SPF1000 sensibly used as first point of reference - Most (if not all) questions/problems will have already cropped up "somewhere" in the topics they can sometimes just be hard to find/spot … Using the search tool (top right) might help get you an answer quicker than posting a new topic and hoping one of the (currently flat out) team member … At this busy time any of the folders (everyone is a volunteer) may try to help guide/assist you but the existing posts are an amazing source of knowledge if you can get used to searching them ;)
