Hello,
What is the correct way to set up multiple PCs in the some household to run the Folding program? Do I use the same passkey for all machines? Or do I sign up each with a different passkey? What about the user name? Do I need a different user name for each PC? And if there is anything else that I need to do please advise.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Multiple PCs
Same User Name, same Team number and same Passkey will get the Points in one place, usually what you want.

Yes, you don't have to be on a passkey. But I would recommend a passkey with a unique username. I'd also point out that you can use the FAHControl tool to connect and manage multiple computers.BartJY wrote:What if I'm not on a team? Will it still work?

Re: Multiple PCs
If i was managing a huge number of folding PCs (say, hundreds or thousands) I would be tempted to give them all unique names to make it easier to keep track of them. I have 3 PCs all folding with the same user id & passkey, and I have no problems keeping track of each one. IMO, unique user ids aren't worth bothering with for a small number of PCs.

You don't need to give each machine a unique name. FAHControl can connect to the client software on each machine and manage it, regardless of the identity that the machine is using. All the machines in my place fold under the same username and passkey, but I have a single FAHControl to manage them.jonault wrote:If i was managing a huge number of folding PCs (say, hundreds or thousands) I would be tempted to give them all unique names to make it easier to keep track of them. Re: Multiple PCs
Look in the Folding@home folder that gets installed in the Applications folder. It should also be able to be selectively installed from the downloaded installer.
