Swapping video cards

Hello!

I am not new to folding. However i didn't fold for about 3 years.
I am starting again and this time I will stay.

I am bulding a system dedicated to folding. It will run 24/24, 7/7. The parts will arive tomorrow (Saturday, 27 September). Untill then I am folding with an AMD GPU. The new GPU will be Nvidia.

And now the question. Can I swap the old AMD card with the new Nvidia before the WU is done? Or should I wait till it is done? I prefere not to wait 5 days till the WU is done.

You cannot swap cards.

The client detects the GPU-type and GPU-subtype and that information is passed to the Assignment Server. Many projects work on various types of GPUs; other projects do not.

Set the current WUs to Finish. After they've been uploaded, uninstall and and do a clean reinstall of the client so that the initial configuration of your NVidia GPU is done properly.
