psummary not showing (still?) active project

Post by ChristianVirtual »

I right now crunch on two 9401-WUs. But I don't get the k-factor anymore from psummary as it's not in :?: .
Just see that 8900 also gone.
Does it mean that project comes to an end and only collect few pending WU ?
Does it mean the pool of WU runs low and need a refill ?
Does it mean there is an issue with psummery ?
What does it mean ?

Is there a historical psummary where I can get k-factors from finished projects ?

If you use HFM.net go to Tools, Benchmark Viewer and select 9401 ... the figures you're looking for will show near the bottom of the window under Project Information:

credit - 13000
kfactor - 0.75
preferred days - 10.9
maximum days - 14.1

You might also find the information in the beta forum announcement of the project.

Not showing on the Project Summary is usually a sign that none of the WUs for that project are currently being assigned or there's something on the server that is not running properly. In this case the work server, 171.67.108.31, is showing as being in Reject on the Server Status page.

Thanks ! That's what I thought. I got a different WU assigned from a project still in psummery. Too bad I don't use HFM and seems I better add a psummery history collection into my iPad app to be safe.

That's one possibility.

Does it mean the pool of WU runs low and need a refill ?
Many projects are designed to run continuously with a low pool. You'll never notice that a project needs a refill unless there's only one server that can supply your assignments because you'll just get WUs from another server. The pool is automatically refilled as soon as the WUs that are assigned for processing are returned. Having more WUs than are required by the science slows down the project so the ideal number is enough, but not too many.

Does it mean there is an issue with psummery ?
No. psummary is working as designed. It's generated automatically, and when a Server is down for longer that (some number) those projects disappear just like they would if the project happened to be finished. The server for p8900 has been offline. I'm not sure if any of it's projects are finished or not.

Is there a historical psummary where I can get k-factors from finished projects ?

Check the 3rd party forum. There's more than one source for that information. For example, the bonus calculator fills in that information when you choose a project.

The only thing it means is that Psummary is updated dynamically from the wus that are on the active work servers at this time.

Thanks together.

I tried the bonus calc but that one also missed 7810 and 7811; do you have by chance those details too ? Ideally also with number of atoms (just to have it complete).

In "Bonus Point Calculator" click on - "Load active/inactive projects". Then you should see p7810/11.
