project 8900 - logs not matching external stats? missing QRB

fahcontrol log reporting the usual mid-30k points but seem to be only getting 6k? (seem to have lost all QRB?)

any idea why the disparity?

You did not get a bonus. My guess is that the passkey or the name (censored at donor's request) claiming credit was changed during the run. Both of those values must be set BEFORE downloading the WU and must remain the same until the WU is uploaded. The other possibility is that you have not completed 10 bonus-eligible WUs using that name and that passkey.

thanks for the replies gentlemen

after several years break i resumed folding recently in december. i read about passkeys and qrb and subsequently obtained a passkey a week or two after resuming folding. after a few more weeks i still hadnt seen ppd figures even remotely close to those mentioned on various forums, so on a whim i changed from a gtx760 to gtx780 last week, and subsequently saw my first qrb with returns in the low 30k range per unit with 8900s, for several days.

i woke up one morning and the computer was idle and wouldnt fetch more units. thinking this was a problem with fah control (it turned out to be my adsl modem that had an issue, when i investigated further i found half the internet was unreachable and i updated the modem firmware and everything worked again) meanwhile i had uninstalled and reinstalled fah and re-requested the pass key (which i thought would be the same key, enabling me to continue uninterrupted) but from the above replies it seems like a new key was issued. that would explain why ive had to do another 10 units without qrb.

as part of reinstalling the passkey i requested it once first with no email response (checked spam filter), so i could see how there might be another passkey floating around with no units against it. however there should now be two passkeys which have reached 10+ units, one at 10 units successfully completed, and the other one issued several weeks ago, with a lot more units. all passkeys used by me alone - it has always been only me folding under my name, since when i first started years ago.

however there is a further wrinkle as of just now. midway through what i would anticpate to be the 11th unit with the new passkey (and thus 1st eligble for qrb) the computer is again idle and showing this in the fah control log;

If you had used the same email as the first one, you would have gotten the same email. However, it seems that you might have used a different email so you would have gotten a different passkey.

Yep, one passkey has just been qualified while the other one has many (few hundreds). Just remember which passkey you were using and preferably, stick with that. However, given the unique situation that both your passkeys are qualified now, you can either one in the future and should be getting the bonus points.

Could you please post the log file, especially the initial section so that we can see the system configuration and F@H Settings (viewtopic.php?p=225958#p225958)? What drivers are you using and is your GPU operating within normal range? I have marked that WU for a follow-up so see if it is a bad WU or not.

by normal range do you mean is the gpu overclocked? it is overclocked slightly, but much less than the point i tested up to on the first day.

up til now, apart from the aforementioned modem episode, its been folding constantly on this setting for the last 5 days out of the 6 days total its been in the machine. is this the cause of the error? does this mean all units completed on this gpu/setting are suspect? does it often take several days to show an error if overclocking is the cause?

short of reinstalling, how do i resume folding and what do i do going forward?

You seem to have the beta flag set. Support is not available here, you must be a member of the beta team and post in the beta forum to get support for that configuration.

Or try removing the beta flag.

Why don't you simply remove the beta flag? It's not doing you any good. And if you do discover a bug, you can't report it so it's not doing F@H any good either

P.S. Please return the logging verbosity setting to the default of 3. A setting of 5 usually does not give any additional useful information for troubleshooting, and actually makes it more difficult.
