Would Like to Join a Team

Post by tazmo8448 »

Hello all I have put the F@H program on my desktop and laptop and they are running as I did get a passkey. I would like to join a team if possible so any here in the states or else where is okay. I did notice on your registration captcha picture that there really was no picture and I just guessed the answer after several hrs of fiddling with it. Question is it my browser or is there and error with the anti-spam thing?
Tried to get in touch with Admin and that email wouldn't take either so I feel fortunate that I was able to join at all. Thanks.

There are m options for a team,

1 don't join one and fold for the default team
2 join a team listed on here:- http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=, when choosing a team try and join one that matches any interests or hobbies that you have. If you are a member of a forum they may already have a team.
3. Create your own team and try and recruit others

We can't really recommend a team. For these forums to work they need to be team-agnostic. So no recruiting is ever allowed. If you use the official stats and list all the teams then you can find one that piques your interest and click on that one. One of the links will be their home page.

Hello tazmo8448,

We do get emails to the admin email account from people having trouble seeing the captcha image. The key seems to be to open the link in a new tab or window. When I suggest that, the person always seems to manage to register.

That works when people contact us from an email domain which is not blocking us. If you are not able to send to admin@foldingforum.org. There is an announcement about this in the forum announcements section on this site. Link to the announcement. I strongly suggest you change the email address in your preferences if the one you are using is from a domain blocking our IP.

It isn't your browser. It's just that this seems to be the only way uncle_fungus could configure captcha to both discourage spammers and yet allow legitimate accounts to register.

I am sorry it was so frustrating for you. Kudos to you for figuring out how to get around the difficulties, though. Welcome to the site. :)

Edit: FYI, I sent an email from our admin account awhile ago to the email address you used to register here. Thus far I have received no failure of delivery notices. If you didn't receive it, maybe check your spam folder?
