Using both v.7.3.6 and v.6.23 software

Post by montemac »

It has been difficult for me to search the forums for what I have as this subject.

On some machines I have been using both the old and new versions of the FAH software. Is there any advantage in this, or should I just use the v.7.3.6 software.

Thanks.

Absolutely no advantage to running old or multiple clients any more for most people.

... in fact, there's a disadvantage: Dividing the computer resources between multiple projects will slow down each project, keeping Stanford from meeting their desired global schedules and keeping you from earning bonus points.

The V7 client should be capable of using 100% of the resources you're willing to donate.

Set the V6 client for -oneunit so that it cleanly finishes the active WU and then remove any settings that will restart it, either manually or after a reboot.
