new donor, hello. :-) and a passkey question.

Post by petmypaw »

i have been meaning to get going with FAH for a while, and kick myself regularly for procrastinating. i build gaming rigs as a hobby and am tired of watching hardware collect cobwebs. so... hello. :-)

dove into it without reading too much documentation. if the answer to any of my q's are "search the forum" or "read the faq" i will completely understand.

i requested and received a passkey, and entered it on the identity during configuration. my status page shows work being don via CPU and GPU, but i did see a passkey related error when setting up things, and there is no passkey (or dots, if the actual key isn't usually shown) when i look under the identity tab. is this normal, or did i make a boo-boo with the passkey?

also... am i correct in assuming that the client will automagically detect hardware and use it?

thanks! :-)

The client will generally auto-detect hardware and use the CPU and the GPU when appropriate. There are default usage settings that depend on whether F@H is installed on a desktop or a laptop. You can change settings from the defaults, documentation is available on the F@H web pages and assistance is available here in the forums. We can also help in those cases where the auto-detection does not work completely.
