I have Mac OS 10.5.8 and FAH Client 7.3.6 and a previous username/group for an older version of FAH
The software is installed and I have followed the guidelines in the pinned topic about testing ports and various web addresses - that all checks out.
However when I look at FAHControl I don't seem to be getting off the starting line.
Using assign.stanford.edu and port 80 the indicator flicks between orange-connecting and yellow-updating ... the left panel says it is connecting and updating, ocassionally it says online.
But I don't seem to be getting any work units assigned.
I can't find the log file to diagnose, but there is a pref file getting updated in my user library.
Please could someone give me a pointer on what to do next?

Re: Getting Started
Unfortunately at this time you will need a system running at least OS X 10.6. The client has mostly been coded so it can run on 10.5, but there are some issues yet. The biggest issue is that the folding cores currently available for OS X are not compiled to run on 10.5, they need at least 10.6. I do not know if that will change.
If your system supports it, upgrading to 10.6 is still possible relatively cheaply. The installation DVD can be ordered from the online Apple Store for $20.
P.S. I just noticed your username, if that means you are in the UK the price listed in the UK online Store is 14 pounds.

Ah that's a shame. I upgraded to 10.6 but found that it broke the font handling functions of Apps like Quark XPress so I would have to upgrade those too, so I downgraded back to 10.5.8. Thank you for your help.
