Folding@home 7.3.6 did a fine job completing the work unit that was in progress on my Mac running Mountain Lion after I installed it yesterday. However, it has been unable to get a new assignment from the assignment server. The log is reporting:

Both of these servers (vsp10v-vz00 and vspg6-vz7) are reporting they are OK, however looking more closely at the server status list, it appears neither has WUs to give out. I hope more show up soon.
Nope, besides upgrading from 7.2.9 to 7.3.6, nothing else changed. I went back through the full log history for the last couple days. At 5:03 am this morning, my last unit reached 98% and the client tried to initiate a download of a new unit to begin upon completion. At 6:18 am, the unit was completed and successfully uploaded, and the server acknowledged the submission. However, the client was still unable to retrieve a new unit, as has continued to be the case throughout today.
The pande assignment servers are still reporting they have no units to dispense. However, are they not the assignment servers the client should be contacting? I just checked another client on which I upgraded FAH and it's processing happily, receiving units from vspg14b (171.64.65.104). How can I get the same love?
Please post your log file showing the beginning with the system information and configuration information and some of the download attempts. The log file can be located in:
Library --> Application Support --> FAHClient
That is the system-wide Library folder, not the one in your account directory.

The pande assignment servers are still reporting they have no units to dispense. However, are they not the assignment servers the client should be contacting? The Assignment Servers do not dispense work units. They tell your client where to find a Work Server which has units to dispense. It's a lot easier to explain when we can see the log.
Can you explain how the client or the system that doesn't work is different than the system that does work?
The one that works is currently located in northwest Connecticut. It's a Mac Pro running OS X 10.7.5. The that doesn't is a MacBook Pro in Berkeley running OS X 10.8.2. What other details would help you troubleshoot? What would prevent an AS from telling my client from which WS to request a unit?
I'd guess that you opened the web client in the browser twice and then closed it causing the broken pipes. What happened in those first two minutes? It does look like the Client recognized that it was connecting to your browser.
I don't think so, but why would that matter? I was using 7.2.9 on 10.8.2 on my MacBook Pro just yesterday, and a few days ago when my last work unit was downloaded.
The first time I tried opening the client in my browser, it crashed my browser. My main browser is OmniWeb, which is more fully featured but has its share of incompatibilities. It hasn't crashed since, but I've been opening the client in a different browser, too. Also, the browser interface isn't much use to me; I prefer to use FAHControl.
I would try moving the control back to Full in the Web Control or FAHControl, setting it at Medium has the client trying to get WU's set for a uniprocessor. I don't know how many are currently available for OS X. See the writeup on what the different Performance Levels translate to. As for the slot now being listed as CPU, that is a change in 7.3. Instead of separate slots for Uniprocessor and SMP, the CPU slot can be set to handle a single core or multi-core setup.

Reducing the CPU power only worked for the Uniprocessor FahCore. If you have overheating problems or prefer to run at less than 100% of the CPUs, reducing the CPU count is the preferred method. For the novice, some assumptions had to be made. For the expert, if you want to run at 100% CPU, that's up to you.
The screensaver can avoid any potential screen-lag issues by only running your GPU when your computer is idle. (Ditto if you use your GPU for games.) If you choose not to run the FAH screensaver, the GPU slot should still start up when the mouse and keyboard are idle for a while. (I have not tested that, myself.) Again, the expert can choose.
