Hi,
Seems I've taken a disproportionate amount of attention herein, but have been scouting for the best way to salvage this old laptop. Finally (?) settled on Fedora 16 with the KDE Plasma desktop. It isn't perfect, especially in light of the fact that when I attempted to use curl to download the tar file I had code characters scrolling down my screen. Hopefully it didn't corrupt anything!
I'd like to have this machine working on folding, but if I can't, I've got two others doing it .
Any advice on my Fedora problem would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Larry

Re: Time constraints
Thanks! Will I be able to run the new client on this 1.3 GHz 1Gb RAM Intel Centrino machine running Fedora 16 with the KDE Plasma desktop?
