G'day, I am currently running v.623 Classic systray client. It runs steadily without issues. I would now like to run v.623 GPU2 systray client as well. I have a pair of GTX 285's in SLI. I understand I will need to use the -gpu N line and possibly the -force gpu ........line. Do I have to switch off the SLI in nvidia control centre? My OS is windows 7/64 bit.
-Core i7 920 @ 3.6GHz
-12GB DDR3-1333 DRAM
-1250W PSU
-Rampage lll extreme mobo
Thanks for any advisement

Welcome to the F@H Forum snowbird48,
For multiple GPU installation, please read this GPU Guide. You will have to use -gpu 0 and -gpu 1 flags. You might need the -forcegpu nvidia_g80 flag too. If you have the latest drivers from Nvidia, I don't think that you need SLI disabled for folding.

Re: GPU2
or better yet, use the FAHTracker program. it makes the implementation of the dual gpu so much easier.

Re: GPU2
Welcome to the Fold, Snowbird48. Latest clients and appropriate drivers allow you to run GPU clients with/without SLI. Also, they should work fine without any dummy plugs for the monitors. Suggest you also add the -verbosity 9 flag to give you more info in the log should you need to troubleshoot any problems. Fold on.

Re: GPU2
Thanks for the pointers PantherX and divery4eyes. Nvidia driver is 260.99, the most current. Being quite new at this going to enable one GPU and watch things for a bit. I know this makes a bit more work for enabling the other. In reading through a lot of posts on here I see a number of folders suggesting to use Driver Wiper or a similar utility, then do a clean GPU driver install. Is F@H GPU client a bit picky? I do not mind taking the time if it puts a hedge on first time success running the client.

Re: GPU2
The application is called Driver Sweeper (Details) and we recommend it because when uninstalling older drivers, the default uninstallers (from ATI/AMD/Nvidia) may leave some left-overs which may cause an issue.
