Project 4044 and 4047 PS3

Post by SomeStones »

Project 4044_supervillin_StillGBSA_AM03 takes a PS3 (at least) 30 hours to run yet returns the same credit of 250 as a 6hour WU. I believe the same is also true of Project 4047. Project 4044 is not in the Project Summary page but can be found by searching.

A relevant thread in the PS3 forum is at: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15827

The proper credit should be at least 1250 per WU for this project. We were robbed by this vill(a)in :ewink:

I've folded a number of 4044/4045 in the past and as far as I know I recieved 1250 points for them. But 4047 is listed in Project Summary at 250 points, which is definitely too low for a 30+ hour WU.

There are also reports in the PS3 section of problems with these. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15498

Out of curiosity, would it possible to check the DB for the points credited with just the Project #?

How would one report these since the PRCG is no longer available on the PS3?

If it would help, I can keep an eye on my PS3 and let someone know if I get one of these.

Are the RCG no longer available? They used to be visible only in the on-line screen for more information about the project.

A Moderator can look up the most recent WU that was completed by your PS3. Unfortunately the last one you did wasn't a 4044 / 4047.

Hi Amaruk (team 50625),
Your WU (P3466 R3 C31 G880) was added to the stats database on 2011-01-03 17:02:26 for 251 points of credit.

There was an earlier report a week or two ago about the same sort of issue (maybe one of the same projects) and the Pande Group is aware of that issue.

That info is no longer available. :( It's been gone for a while but I'm not sure when it went away exactly.

If I get one of these I'll report it here.

PS3 Project 4045? Attn:gbowman

Post by 314159 »

Would you PLEASE clarify the point value of this WU?

They take well over a day to complete and psummary shows them as worth something like 255 points.

I have all four of my PS3's running these now (also all 4 have queued units). :eo

If the 255 point credit is accurate, these should be pulled IMMEDIATELY, at least IMHO.

If they are worth the "advertised PS3 benchmark" PLEASE correct psummary.

Thank you :!: .

My PS3 has been assigned a 4045, which should finish late Thursday/early Friday PST. I believe the WU search is limited to the last one completed, so I've also set the PS3 to shut down after current, just in case.

As always, thanks for checking. 8-)

Did you see 4045 in PS?

I've only seen 4047 listed (at 250 points). FWIW, 4044/4045 used to be worth 1250, and I believe 4047 should be the same.

This is also being discussed HERE

Do any or all of you running these projects also have a WU queued?

On completion of these "bad" WUs, which of the two, if one is queued, is sent to the server first? (Moderator help with this question?) :?: :)

As a matter of fact, I did. :) I forced it to upload as soon as I found it just in case.

The last WU my PS3 was working on was the 4045, which was likely finished early on the 7th.

PS3 has been off since, and upload is confirmed locally as units downloaded = units awarded points.

Sooo, any chance of getting a database check?

The most recent credit from your PS3 is:
Your WU (P4045 R17 C791 G7) was added to the stats database on 2011-01-07 00:01:56 PST for 1250 points of credit.

That means P4045 is one of the "5 times a big" WUs compared to most of the other PS3 projects which are in the 345x-346x range.

My records indicate that P4046 also earn 1250 points per WU. I have no information on psummary indicates that P4047 is only worth 250 points but I can't find anybody who has processed one of those WUs recently so I don't know what it actually earns. I does look like it might be an error.

These have been known errors for months and have confused many PS3 owners, some of whom have gone so far as to turn off their machines.

Whomever "owns" these projects should have corrected psummary when this was initailly detected. :?

Perhaps they just don't care about their "volunteers" enough to take the few minutes required? :?:

Mine just cranked through the ones that were issued, and received the proper credit. :D

I agree. Actually, I don't even see them on the Psummary page, let alone in a correct format.

Perhaps this was accidently overlooked by the project owner, and none of us folding "volunteers" cared enough to notify the project owner until just now. They can't fix what isn't known to be broken.

Maybe you could send a PM to vvoelz. His name is in the WHO column for the active PS3 server right now. ;)

Given that and the DB checks all showing proper credit earned it appears the PS was incorrect.

I see that 4047 is now listed as worth 1250 points, so that problem looks to be fixed. 8-)
