Caution: FAH client checks the clock for expired work

Post by Qinsp »

Learned something the hard way. ADJUST YOUR CLOCK BEFORE STARTING FAH. :-D

If you adjust the date, it will freak out the client if it's running, and dump the job.

BTW, there's an advanced configuration option to ignore the deadline info. Applies to one's own rig only, of course, not the FAH servers. :e)
Ignore any deadline information (mainly useful if system clock frequently has errors) (no/yes) [no]?

I think I will use that switch on all computers from now on. I have seen Windows clock freak out in the past. My accounting computer "time-travels" whenever there is a Win Update.
