I'm interested in running F@Home, but I'm unsure which client to use. I was running the uniprocessor, but I read that the SMP was more efficient. However, the SMP version seems more complicated, is still in beta, and is recommended for 4 cores. For me (not very handy with computers), what would be the best setup?
I'm using a laptop with an Intel Core 2 Due P8400 @ 2.26 GHz (integrated graphics I'm afraid).
Thanks in advance.
Which client to use?

Re: Which client to use?
It seems to me you have already answered your own question.
To clarify do what you know to do = uniprocessor client.
I am not in the know concerning the SMP client but also agree it most probably is involved, though from my understanding there is a newer version of the SMP client that runs well on windows operating system without the need to use a virtual player within windows to run a linux operating system to run the older version SMP.
I have only learned of this from reading many posts over time.
I hope you find your answer.

Re: Which client to use?
If you don't want complexity, stay away from the SMP client. However, you may want to try adding a second uniprocessor client, since the C2D can Fold 1 per core. See http://fahwiki.net/index.php/FAH_%26_SM ... le_Clients
