Protein unit not updated

Post by yelir »

After the last protein unit was picked up by the college, I did not receive a new unit of work. How do I get a new unit to work on?

Post your log file, called FAHlog.txt, inside

Code: Select all

tags (located between "Quote" and "List" above the text box here). The file is located in the directory where the client is installed.

I think this is it:
             Waiting before retry.
[23:22:02] + Attempting to get work packet
[23:22:02] - Connecting to assignment server
[23:22:03] - Successful: assigned to (0.0.0.0).
[23:22:03] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[23:22:03] Work Unit has an invalid address.
[23:22:03] - Error: Attempt #16 to get work failed, and no other work to do.

The older client reports it has been sent to the invalid address 0.0.0.0 when the servers cannot find any work that meets the criteria set by your client. This sometimes happens with older clients and older computers. You may be able to adjust some client settings to get an assignment, but you may still find that there is nothing available. The folks that have projects for your particular computer may also be away for the holidays so you may just have to wait.

Describe your somputer, the client you're using, and what flags, if any, you're using.

For starters, be sure you've said that you'll accept the larger WUs and that you have not set a reduced value for reported memory size. Be sure you're not configured for deadlineless WUs.

If you're using OS-X on one of the older PowerPC computers, there's probably not much that can be done. Very few of the current projects can benefit from running on that type of computer and support is gradually becoming more difficult.
