If it's not zero, then your trying to be too helpful and you're just frustrating yourself.
Good points! But, it's reached the point where the only client that even begins to work for me, with all my years of F@H is the little system tray v6.3. Even that one is giving me trouble besides not taking full advantage of my PC. I wouldn't even _dare_ to try the more powerful programs! One of my friends, who builds and repairs custom, high end PCs for a living won't try to go beyond the system tray v6.3 program! It's like the hardware is beginning to outrun the programs for folding (God forbid)! What's the point of having a power PC if you can't install F@H/S@H programs to take advantage of the extra power? Even the console program refuses to work (it worked in the past on simpler machines, now it's about as bad as trying to put sand in your car's motor oil, and that's no joke)! Does Intel and companies like EVGA even have an idea of how to maximize output on advanced hardware?
Thanks for listening.
Either there is something seriously wrong with your system or you may be exagerating a little. I do not pretend to be anything but a noob here, but have managed to set up gpu and multicpu clients with no help and multi gpu clients with help (thanks again everyone) Yes SMP is complicated and takes some watching, same with multigpu's.
I do recommend to new people on my team to start off with a single cpu systray or console client to see how things go and people rarely have difficulty with that.
Yes it would be great to have an easy installer for more of the clients, I do not disagree here, but do disagree that a cpu client is not making full use of a powerful cpu, surely a powerful cpu run at full capacity will belt them out really quickly.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding you and you are referring purely to the SMP client.
