How many Fold @ Home

Post by althejandro »

I am thinking about bringing F@H to my University and am wondering if there is a general number of how many people participate in F@H. I was thinking of trying to persuade the higher ups at my school to fold on the many computers we have that run idle practically all day.

G/l, as a facility like that will greatly increase their power condsumption... which isn't going to go over to well.

Hello althejandro, welcome to the folding forum.

There are in the neighborhood of 400,000 active clients. Many from large universities and colleges. This information is available on the project web page, under Stats. A quick search of the team names for "university" turns up a long list. You might find your University already has a fah team. ;)

There are also helpful threads on this forum, to answer common questions, and how to respond to hard questions or respond to pushback from people that just don't get the concept.
