can't send 128.143.48.226/227

Post by cordis »

Hey, I'm getting errors getting jobs sent to 128.143.48.226:8080, 128.143.48.226:80, 128.143.48.227:8080, and 128.143.28.227:80. Just the standard sort of errors for can't connect to Work Server, trying alternate port, can't connect to work server, and so on. Checking the server page it looks like 128.143.48.226 is in reject mode, so that seems bad. Also on the page it looks like 171.65.103.100 and 171.65.103.158 are DOWN, and 171.64.65.102 is also in Reject mode. Seems like an off day to me.

Also have three completed work units which wont return home either. We'll see what the situation is after the weekend in the US.

If you had read the "do this first" post, you would have reported that http://128.143.48.226:8080 through http://128.143.48.227:80 also fail, which is a certain sign that you can't establish a connection with those two servers. (Sometimes that helps them identify the problem more quickly from your report.) The server is not listed as Reject mode right now, though it does seem to alternate between Reject and Accept. It has been doing that a lot and I have no idea why.

It is low on new WUs, and its CPU LOAD and NET LOAD indicate that it's pretty heavily loaded. Maybe its priority is just set too high.

(Reporting the other servers that are DOWN/Reject in the same post doesn't help, though. Somebody does pay close attention to the titles.)

codysluder, your above post does not make and sense. The OP did report those servers failing. I do not see any thing in the Do this first post that indicates the required format for reporting. The title is clear, indicating servers 128.143.46.226 and 128.143.46.227 in the text the OP reported "128.143.48.226:8080, 128.143.48.226:80, 128.143.48.227:8080, and 128.143.28.227:80".

The OP was just making an observation regarding those other servers.

As it stands right now server 128.143.28.266 is accepting results again. :)

I'd just like to say thanks to whoever took the time to fix things on a Sunday. I consider that to be above and beyond the call... :D
