Hey guys,
I work for NVIDIA and we are doing a "Folding@home Challenge" at Quakecon - where The NVIDIA Foundation will donate $1toward Folding@Home’s research efforts at Stanford University for every workunit completed by the Quakecon&NVIDIA Folding@home Team, team #169355 (Up to a $5,000 donation).
We REALLY want to donate $5,000 - but our team is only up to around 650 work units completed and we only have about 18 hours left of Quakecon.
This is where I would like to ask you to help: we want as many people as possible to briefly join team #169355 and try to complete as many work units as possible before Midnight (Central Time) on Saturday, August 15th. We need more than 4,000 work units to be completed if we are to donate $5,000 for a great charitable cause.
Every work unit you calculate will be one dollar going directly to charity. You will only have to leave your current Folding team for a few hours as we try to succeed in completing 5,000 work units - and after Midnight you can rejoin your old team! I think if the entire, world-wide folding community bands together we can get this done.
PLEASE Spread the word!
Thanks,
Paul J

Stanford
I'm game, switching now though it's going to be close to turn in a few wu's.
Edit: after realizing I would maybe add 4 or 5 bucks, I think I can better donate that amount on my own then move away from my regular team. What a really interesting concept would be, is not picking a particular team but allowing all donors from all teams to sign up to the competition ( I mean, what's the added value of restricting it to an nvidia related team when during the 'add campain' leading up to the even the relation between a vendor and the charity is made on all possible occasions?? ).

This contest is authorized by Stanford
I'm going to lock the thread and clean up some of the replies that are being answered by this response.
It's actually a good way to introduce those attending the Quaketown conference to FAH. For that reason, it is not classified as Team Recruitment (which would be prohibited on the forum). There is no expectation that you join their team or continue to process for them after the contest ends.
