Well, the server looks Ok from here and on the server stat page.

It's a bit low on WUs but has been actively assigning.......

This part is abnormal behavior!
Are you seeing this too ei57?

Code: Select all

[19:10:21] Connecting to http://171.64.65.64:8080/
[19:10:22] Posted data.
[19:10:22] Initial: 0000; + Could not connect to Work Server
Perhaps this indicates that no WIN WUs are available.
It's a new one for me and I've been around for a while (maybe too long). :ewink:

Try stopping and restarting your client OR add -advmethods OR remove -advmethods if it's already there.

The server looks OK from here too, but two idle smp-clients do not support that view.

I've tried stopping/restarting, but still no work.

Same here - two idle clients and I also thought that the server stats looked good - guess not.

Are you getting the same "code segment" that I extracted from Flathead74's log?

That's a server connection + data post, followed by an immediate disconnect. :?
My interpretation of what that means seems viable but is totally speculative.

Tried changing launch arguments to get on another server (as suggested above)?
That has worked for me MANY times. (52k WUs ++ completed here) :ewink:

I have tried changing the launch arguments, to no avail.
The result is the same.

I made myself a cup of vietnamese coffee, and that seemed to make the trick for one client. The other is still struggling with connecting to the server.

There are obviously WU's available if you're lucky! I make another cup of coffee in the morning.

5 idle SMP clients here 64 is definately not handing out work to any of my SMP clients :(
-advmethods still goes to 64 so that does not help either.
Something is clearly not working properly.

@ ei57 Did that one client get its WU from 171.64.65.64 or from 171.64.65.63?

The former is still accepting work and some just HAVE to be WIN SMP.
You may just have to wait until the new n+1's are spawned from the completed work on this server. :?

Looks as if 171.64.65.63 has some WIN SMP's on it but they may not be F or A (or the AS doesn't know about them - yet).

Be patient. (or install Linux)

The client got its WU from 171.64.65.64 and Linux is already installed on the PC, but having problems with WLAN, it's running on XP.

I have 14 clients waiting for work, I hope that this is fixed soon, would hate to be out of work all weekend. I run 52 SMP clients, would be a waste to be idle too long.
