Stanford pages - Enable gzip compression

I was wondering if the PG IT team has tried enabling gzip compression on its pages. Most pages like serverstats, psummary and server logs are mostly text and range from 100k to close to an MB in size. I'm not certain how many people access these pages but compression would certainly improve the response time and reduce bandwidth expenses.

PS. I only noticed the slow loading after I moved in to a place with a slow internet connection
