We had to log in to follow a link a day or two ago but I didn't have to log in to read this one. (At least I don't remember signing up with the NY Times and setting cookies to log in automatically.)

I think that I was reading an article about this where they were going to be trying to use one of IBM's newest "supercomputers" to play Jeopardy to demonstrate the technology.
I THINK that this what they were talking about. The folks at IBM R&D *phew*. They've got money to spare, AND they do some really really crazy stuff. (Although some of their over 14k patent applications are quite useless).
