Are we ever going to see more suitable WU’s?
Of course

Assignments are spotty on all my machines running with less than 12 threads.
The situation will be fixed eventually.

For at least the last 24 hours, my Pi 5's have all experienced delays in getting a new work unit, while my GPU hasn't.

Pi 5s are already at the bottom of the barrel and rarely enabled in projects. So don't be surprised if situation does not improve, once things are "fixed".

Oddly enough my Pi 4 is getting units pretty consistently but my GPU gets 1 or 2 per day. My desktop CPU hasn't gotten any in 3 days.

I’ve got 2 Mx Macs that aren’t getting WU’s.
Same here, Both my other CPU clients have had WUs no problem. One faster (15 core AMD), one slower (12 core Intel) than my M4 (10 cores).
From my point of vue, my M4 Mac is only been getting p18240/p12487 WUs for the past two weeks, while the two other clients are getting a whole variety.
** further resarch shows I got 3 CoreA9 (very low PPD) WUs 10-12 days ago and "regular" variety 17+ days ago. I speculate some settings where ajusted then.
While this is going on, my very old AMD RX 560 got a WU (p12601-r472-c95-g0) 2 days ago ! I had to scramble to ajust task priorities @25% to make it process (successfully) at speed. It got nothing else since. There is hope

It's slow but it can still fold
Enaugh rambling about, I must go on my daily bike ride.

It’s funny that my pi 4 with 3 cores is getting units consistently while my Mac m1 with 6 cores is playing the waiting game. Even my regular pc which has 12 cores doesn’t always snag something for the CPU (the GPUs are always happy though).

After 140 retries, my machine finally received a work unit!!!

I’m starting to see some projects come back online in the last couple of hours that I haven’t seen in a while. And I can confirm that both 3 core and 8 core machines here are getting timely assignments now.

Nothing here after 446 retires on my 10 core Apple M4.
Goodnight, I’ll see in the morning.

We cannot actively change anything for ARM/Apple. We are just hoping that new projects which are coming back online now will move attention away from currently available projects which are suitable for ARM/Apple

Seeing a mix of projects across my 10 clients now. Not quite as tasty points wise, and they take longer to run, but science is getting done now and they are still way better than those 1922x projects. Sure beats looking at half my clients floundering around doing nothing.
Thanks for prodding the right people.

Well, it seems that things are improving.
0xa8 WU's are currently being assigned at a rate of 3,264/hr, which is around 3 times faster than yesterday.
Now, none of my Pi 5's are having to wait for a new WU.
I believe this is primarily due to a new/reactivated assign server, vav22.fah.temple.edu, and work to fix the errors, and warnings on the two groups of foldingathome.org assign servers.

There has been no active attempts to improve ARM/Apple availability. We hope that with new WUs now back online, there will be less pressure for projects which have been activated for ARM/Apple
