The final estimate is close to amount you will receive if you have qualified for the QRB on SMP and make allowance for an additional 10% bonus for processing WU's that use the A4 folding core. That 10% bonus was announced last year as a temporary incentive to get persons to update their clients to more recent versions that could utilize the A4 core - blog post on bonus. It has already been continued past its original earliest end date. WU's using the A3 core in my experience result in a final points award that is within a few points of the estimate. The estimate will also be fairly accurate for GPU WU's processed, though some older projects run on servers which do not provide the necessary information to calculate an estimate.
Once you have finished and submitted 10 WU's with the passkey you just got, then you will get the QRB. The 10% bonus for A4 WU's applies even if you do not qualify for the QRB, and will be on top of the base points and any QRB points. In the future GPU WU's will be eligible for QRB, Pande Group is in the process of implementing that.
As for the estimated PPD while a WU is processing, there is a known "bug" that WU's from some projects will cause the estimated TPF and PPD to oscillate around the actual value that can be determined by looking at the log entries. The exact reason for this has not been determined and remains to be fixed.
