Show the log anyway... without it we have absolutely nothing to go on.

Try restarting the client.

Yes, I did quit the client and re-started. Also paused and unpaused to see if that would help. No luck. Here is the log.

Looks like the download for a new unit was attempted but failed for some reason.

Code: Select all

12:38:58:WU00:FS00:Requesting new work unit for slot 00: RUNNING gpu:0:"G98M [Quadro NVS 160M]" from 171.67.108.11
12:38:59:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 171.67.108.11:8080
12:39:04:WU00:FS00:Downloading 44.88KiB
Then nothing to indicate download was successful. I would open the work folder and delete the 00 folder, that should kickstart a new download.

I looked all over my dell but cannot find any sign of a work folder. Can you give more guidance?

*sigh* Looks like the download for the CPU is failing too. Now all folding has stopped.

Where are you located? That can be most of your problem downloading if it happens to be China. Currently folders from there are reporting that they can not connect to Stanford to download new work, viewtopic.php?f=18&t=22378.

Another possible issue is a bug that was recently found in the V7 client connected to interrupted downloads. Sometimes the interruption fails to be detected and the client does not retry the download, see Ticket 911 - https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... ticket/911. That requires restarting the FAHClient, not just FAHControl which is all I can see you tried based on your log. Depending on how folding is installed on your system, you may have to restart your machine to easily restart FAHClient.

I assume this is where the client was restarted.

Code: Select all

For v7 in windows there should be a shortcut to the data directory in the start menu. The default location is in your user directory -
C:\Users\Relkin\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient

No, that just indicates the folding core executable stopped due to using the Pause button. The FAHClient runs in a different process and starts and stops the FAHcore processes, handles uploading and downloading of cores and WU's, and the log files.

Yep, I'm in China. Looks like everyone here has the problem I do. Seems like a massive problem. Looks like my folding career is over. A real shame. I just passed my 100th WU.

I did a full search of my computer and there is nothing named roaming at all to be found.

Doesnt matter though. The problem is that NO ONE in China can fold now. The entire country cant get any WU's.

If I am not mistaken:

This should be WinXP - Running FahCore: E:\FAHClient/FAHCoreWrapper.exe "C:/Documents and Settings/name/Application Data/FAHClient/cores/www.stanford.edu/~pande/Win32/x86/Core_ ... ore_a4.exe" -dir 02 -suffix 01 -version 701 -lifeline 2520 -checkpoint 15 -np 2

Win7 - C:\Users\Relkin\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient/cores/www.stanford.edu/~pande/ .....

If it comes to this team of China - http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... ?s=&t=3213
collapse of the points is not 100%. Some donors live outside of China, or some regions of China are affected.

Re: GPU inactive [FAH from China is off-line]

Post by bruce »

Two similar topics merged.

It does seem that the ISPs in China or the government of China has added some new restrictions that are making FAH inaccessible in China. Whether this is a temporary or a permanent change is not known. We encourage citizens of each country to follow the policies and laws of their country and to contact the appropriate authorities if you believe an error has been made.

OK, I found and deleted my WU's to force a new download but it seems stalled. I cant get past this stage. See code:
