Does your LAN and ISP support IPV6? There are a number of posts here on the forum from people who are having trouble "Downloading core" Somebody noticed that their LAN/router had recently been upgraded to support IPV6 and that the problem went away when they removed support for IPV6 on their system.

That's certainly is a temporary fix for some bug that has not yet been isolated. I have recently upgraded a ticket for the V7 client but I don't yet know if the problem is really in V7 or in one of the Stanford servers.

Bruce... Good call on the IPv6. I unchecked it in the Local Area Connection Properties. When I quit and restarted the FAHControl it went to Running! Thanks much!
You may be correct that there may be a bug someplace.

Hi,
Just added F@h to my machine for the first time in a decade, and the problem I'm having seems to either be really old or just that no-one's here anymore and I'm ghostposting...

I am running a Threadripper 2950x with a GeForce GTX 1080, so I have some grunt to bring but my client status is:

Client: local Online Inactive

I'd like to leave this machine doing something worthwhile while I sleep, so if there's anyone still here?

All the best,

B

@BeeVee you posted to a very old topic, the situation is a bit different. There are so many requests that it can take a while for a connection to be made to a server. As long as your client is configured and has supported equipment, it should eventually get assigned work.

If you have questions about your configuration, post with information about it and someone should be able to help.
