I was aware that GreyWhiskers had already mentioned the passkey.

Since dazz. didn't mention getting one I posted to asked if he had one, as well as provide the link if needed.

Or are you referring to ninja'd?

Question please :D
Can I make changes to the slot's config on the fly in v7 or do I need to restart the client?

Thanks

Depends on what you want to do. The "manual" highlights the various parameters you can set. I've changed core priority "on the fly".Things that affect the next WU can, of course, also be changed on the fly.

That's exactly what I wanted to do, change the core priority of the GPU slot to "low". Nice, thanks GW!
With the GPU running, the bigadv WU runs at 30min TPF vs 26min on it's own, so I thought I would try offloading some CPU usage from the GPU slot
I have started a bigadv already. Not sure if I qualify to the QRB but I guess after 30 WU's I must have completed 10 A2/A3.
Am I correct and QRB only credits bigadv WU's? or is it any SMP WU?

Any SMP WUs completed on time and with the User/Passkey. Of course unless you've dumped a lot of WUs - you need an 80% success rate or better, I seem to remember.

Ok thanks, that's what I thought because I noticed I was getting more points than usual, at least I think so. I still can't find anything in the logs that suggests I'm in the bonus, not even a "Final credit estimate" for SMTP's like the GPU WU's display after completion :?
I know I have not dumped anywhere near 80% of my WU's and the passkey was in after the first 2 or 3 of them

IIRC, the bonus qualification rules are stricter than that.
  • You have to complete at least 10 SMP or bigadv WUs with a passkey initially
  • You must maintain at least 80% successful return rate
  • Missing the preferred deadline of a WU counts as a failure. The bonus point timer starts ticking once you start the download and stops once you've uploaded the completed unit. Doesn't matter if the delay is caused by network outage or, say, Stanford servers being down, late is late
  • Dumped WUs and partial returns are considered a failure. You receive partial credit for partial returns, but no bonus points
  • Once you've finished and uploaded a WU without downloading a new WU, you can take a break from folding without affecting bonus points qualification
Points wise, it's probably best to try and time your non-folding activities between SMP/bigadv WUs. I've recently tried to collect a few tips here. No guarantees that they'll work for you, but I hope you find them somewhat useful.

There's nothing in the log that tells you if you get a bonus. The v6 log never mentioned it and the V7 log looks like it has provisions to provide that information someday but it's not working yet.

Good to know, well, I should know for sure in about 24hrs if I'm in the bonus or not :D

That's most definitely going to be useful man, thank you. I noticed that changing the GPU priority to low didn't really help much, if at all. It's weird, Core Temp doesn't show much CPU usage in the GPU slot here. I'll try all that out for sure, even if I don't end up folding 24/7 all that often, optimizing all this is big part of the fun involved

If you're not using one of the third-party stats sites, it might be helpful for you. There are some that require you, in Team 0, to have a fairly substantial number of points before they start tracking you. But, Kakao Stats (start with this to find your account http://kakaostats.com/ad.php) or Free-DC (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=users&proj=fah) will have a stats page for everyone.

They update every three hours - and give you some history. It's immediately apparent when you are turning in WUs, and how many points over time you are getting.

That's great again. Thanks so much

I can see 2011-04-24 13:00 I got 6,778 points in 3 WU's for a 2,259 ppwu. I guess tha's only possible if I was rewarded some bonus for a SMP
