Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115, immediate EUEs
LilChris, 7im and Bruce have talked about this issue in other other threads. Awareness and publicity is a good thing but this is an extremely complex issue that has no simple resolution. The core runs with the number of threads you specify in the client (except with some big prime numbers of threads it will automatically step it down, for example 11 may be changed to 10). The work units cannot be changed to work around the problem. PandeGroup has said the limit on the number of threads that "work" changes with the size of the protein (atom count). A smaller atom count causes the problem to appear with a smaller prime number of threads. Most work units will process with SMP 7 for example, but a 1011x work unit will fail even with SMP 5. Each individual has to make a choice about how they run their system(s) with respect to risk of work unit failure and PPD while factoring in how they use their machine.

Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115 AND 10119, immediate EU
I too ran into a string of these - five 10119 immediate EUEs back to back. Different WUs were assigned right away after each EUE, and the system is happily beavering away on a P6066 as I write this.
I have the client set up with -SMP 7 on the i7 2600K. I haven't tried yet applying either just -SMP, or -SMP 6.
Question: I just went online with my Digital Storm sandy bridge system a few days ago, and I'm "paying my dues" as a new SMP folder. I had seven successful SMP WUs returned in a row well within deadlines, including two -bigadv WUs. Then this string of five EUEs. Will this throw me back to the beginning to qualify ten good SMP WUs for SMP bonuses?
Immediate EUEs
[17:55:28] Project: 10119 (Run 32, Clone 1, Gen 2)
[17:55:53] Project: 10119 (Run 48, Clone 7, Gen 0)

Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115, immediate EUEs
-smp 7 is the problem ... Even numbers are doing better, so -smp or -smp 6 will work for you.
Too much EUE might disqualify you from the bonus, but with you fast CPU, it shouldn't take long to qualify again since you know what causes the problem now.

Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115, immediate EUEs
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll go set it to -SMP 6 and hope it doesn't screw up the PPD too much. I've also got a GPU client slamming the 1348 point WUs with a TPF of 1:25, so there is some natural competition for the CPU cycles on at least one thread, although with the recent GPU clients it's minimal. I'm running the Digital Storm system for a couple of weeks at the factory clock rates (see sig) to make sure all is stable before I turn up the OC.

Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115, immediate EUEs
I, too, have an i7 2600K. I would just stick with -smp (or -smp 8). If you're running both CPU and GPU folding, the aggregate points may be better anyway, even if each core is impeded slightly by the other. I've tweaked my configuration since I first got my new rig. There are still many things you can do to increase your PPD, if that's your goal.

Re: Projects 10113, 10114 and 10115, immediate EUEs
@topodisc: Thanks for the comments. I have some results when I set -SMP 7, -SMP 6 and -SMP on the I7 2600K. I again note that I'm running the system, both the 2600K and the GTX560, at the settings that came from Digital Storm - slight OC of both - see sig. I'll tweak the OC later when I've got more time and I'm sure all is stable. The ASUS BIOS/AI Suite and MSI afterburner make these tweaks easy.
Bottom line: I'm folding now a 10115 with just the -SMP flag (all cores/threads); it picked the WU right up, with a TPF ranging from 10:23 (system quiescent except for background windows tasks and the GPU3 core) to 11:34 to 10:41 (current frame). With SMP bonuses, HFM.NET estimates 12,478 ppd for current frame.
Stats on Project: 6057 (Run 0, Clone 49, Gen 254), SMP, not -bigadv, not one that EUEed with odd number of Cores/threads; a proj 68xx GPU task running also with ~13,300 ppd
TPF/PPD (P6057) - Note PPD is raw without bonuses here
SMP-6: TPF=3:22; PPD~2057
SMP 7: TPF 3:05; PPD ~2300
SMP-8: TPF=2:58; PPD~2334.7
CPU Usage, a3 core thread (no surprise here):
SMP-6: 75%
SMP-7: 87%
SMP-8: 100%
Power consumption (readout from Cyberpower 1500 - chassis is only load on UPS):
SMP-6: 279 w
SMP-7: 288 w
SMP-8 (or no flag): toggles between 288 and 297
CPU Temp
62-62 deg C - varying at all SMP settings. Room ambient ~72 Deg F.
FYI - the 5 consecutive EUEs resulted in what I think is zero points, but credited WUs in both the Stanford Stats page and in Kakao. This leap frogged me to complete my 10 "good" SMP tasks for bonus points, since I was credited for bonus points on the P6057 project I took the stats on. I've reset the SMP client to -bigadv, so it should try to pick them up next.
