Welcome to the forum zina.

Did you intentionally install Folding@home?

If you did, then this is perfectly normal as that is what Folding@home is designed to do.

If you did not, then we can help you remove the application if you so wish.

What should I do?
do a search for a file named: "Fahlog.txt"
Open "Fahlog.txt" and copy the first 30 lines of the log to this thread.

Doing so will help show where and how it is installed.
Having this info will make it easier to help you uninstall f@h.

You can then track down the installation folder from the entry in the Services tab, and delete the contents. Finally, you can search the Registry for the Service Start entries and delete them, if you like.

I doubt that FAH was distributed by a reputable game vendor. That violates the FAH EULA. You need to be more careful about downloading information from sites that have software that is not reputable. If it's on the original CD, please send a PM to vijaypande and tell hime the barcode on the box so Stanford can take legal action against them. If it's from some other site, please tell him where you found it.

I believe that the Pande group would like to know the contents of the FAHLOG.txt file, even if it is no longer causing problems. If Folding was installed unintentionally, then it was against the EULA and the Pande group needs to be able to track it down to prevent others from being similarly affected. At the least the username will be permenantly zeroed so that whom ever did this will not benefit from distributing a trojen horse.

So please, post the contents of the FAHLOG.txt file, and the source of the file, if known. If you don't want it public, PM Vijay Pande

Again, thank you for your consideration. I downloaded the game from torrent client and the crack for it as well. So no need for you to take any legal actions against the product company. Here is the log you wanted, tho I didn't understand correctly what part exactly. If there is anything more I can do for you just ask. Unfortunately I don't have the exact torrent link to the file i downloaded.

Code: Select all

to manually run F@H from that directory at the same time.

I was under the impression that folding was not intentionally installed. However, the folding username is the same as the username used by you in the forums which is highly coincidental if you did not configure folding yourself.

Thank you for your cooperation. What you do or do not do with respect to the game itself is between you and the game distributor.

FAH is free and anyone can download it to contribute to science but we are especially interested in preventing the unauthorized distribution of FAH to people like yourself who do not choose to run it.

Well you should check with the torrents relied to far cry 2 and far cry 2 crack , the most down loadable torrent you will find. I think its on "mininova" or "pirate bay" or "bt junky"
