regaining access to team

Post by FritzV »

Hi,
it must be years ago I myself founded a team - but I lost the correct combination of founders email and user-name. The PC I started the project died.
So I need help in recovering the data.

As far as I know I have to write a PM to MstrBlstr with all the infos I can remember. I will do that. Possibly this thread will be obsolete then.

Is the hard disk from that dead computer still functional? I would try hooking it up as a second drive on another computer to access the data.

Even if the PC died, your username and team number will still be in the stats. You can search for that using the official stats site (See link in this page header,) You don't need to be the team founder to do that.

If you need to modify the link to the team web page, you will need to identify yourself as the genuine team founder. (That's where the password comes in.) You'll need as much information that you used to found the team as you can recall to properly identify yourself as the actual team founder. If you're not sure of part of the information, tell MstrBlstr what you do remember.

Thanks for the replies.
I did already all that mentioned.
And unfortunatly it was the disk that crashed. So no chance.
BTW it was the first (and oldest) of three HDDs that crashed in 12 months.
After that crash I bought an external HDD for backup purposes in Jan 2008 - it crashed in Oct 2008. I got it replaced - but all data are lost ...

@spazzychalk
You have to send an PM with all information you can remember to MstrBlstr (admin) to get help.
So I cannot help you personally.

And you are right: joining a team is simple, but changing anything in the team needs the founders email and password, as you might know. And losing this makes the problem.

Good luck.

MstrBlstr is out of town and I believe will be unavailable for another month (plus).

Perhaps there is another Mod who can assist you?
