fah failer to load

Post by fishbelt »

I just got this computer and don't know anything about FAH. Well it trys to start slows everything done and when I exit I get Fah Cores -11-exe has stopped working? The display for Fah is so slow and jecky I know some things not right. How do I fix this or un-install it. Sounds like the idea is good but I have not had this computer 3 days and it's a head acke right now. fishbelt

Don't use the viewer, and your problems should go away.

Not sure about that, it started to stop my video card, screen goes black, then I get a message saying graphics card recovered. This can't be good?

Fishbelt, which hw, which client, which drivers, which clocks, which psu ;)

Graphics card recoverd is a symptom of the card recovering from a fault, can be caused by to high temps, to high clocks, not enough juice ect.

As with Fishbelt, I just recently bought a new laptop, a Compaq Presario CQ50. It seems to have sufficient computing power: 2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard disk, Windows Vista Basic Home Edition. I, too, am unable to get the F@H Viewer to start. I right-click the systray icon, then click Display. The black F@H Viewer window opens up, then an error message dialog box almost immediately appears, stating "viewer.exe has stopped working." Since my computer is so new, I can't imagine that the graphics are outdated or even insufficient for this application. I make sure that I run Windows Update daily (it's set to do so automatically, but I still run it manually as well on occasion). I also run the Berkeley Open Interface Network Computing (BOINC) Manager on my system, and several of the BOINC projects to which I am attached have very complex renderings (including several folding projects), but none of the graphics displays have any problems whatsoever with their rendering. I am running the CPU Client, version 6.23, although I am not sure where to look to provide you with my driver info. Can you provide any guidance, please?

Heads up, all! I just updated my Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver from the Intel website, and now the F@H Viewer works! So, there is a good chance that anyone else experiencing this issue simply needs to update their driver as well. Good luck!
