missing credit for WU's

Howdy,

I'm not really sure where to post this but I think it is mostly my PC's install that is not adding points/work units to my team's page. The log file shows a "Thank you..." after one WU. I would have sworn that was its second and thought my PC was working on its third WU now. But the time stamps and percentages from the log tell me that I am delusional. No surprise. However the stats for me never changed on my team's page after my PC finished its first WU yesterday.

My team also did not get credit for my PS3's first work unit. I switch from standard to advanced in the middle of that unit and got the message that advanced would be used after the current unit was done. Folding@Home on my PS3 is now in advanced mode whatever that means. It also shows one completed WU. I *think* it should be two.

I will keep running F@H on my PS3 since it now seems to work but I am concerned about using my PC if it does F@H and my team no good. If I don't get any credit for the WU and the log file shows a thank you after it is uploaded, is the WU still used? Should I continue folding? Maybe my PC needs to be scrapped? Maybe I need to change the machine ID from 1 since I started folding on my PS3 first?

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong place. Since it is really both the PC and the PS3, I flipped a coin.

Your PS3 got credit for the last WU it returned, however your CPU client did not.

WUs #1 and #2 are the same PRCG. Seems there was some glitch uploading the WU the first time and you got reissued the same WU again.

Thanks for your help. I was looking through recent posts and saw the "Is it okay to interrupt work units?" thread. Just a minute ago I got worried that I was complaining about something that was really my fault for being a slacker. I feel a lot better knowing that it is really my fault for uploading *bad* data. Hopefully, I will be good from now on and not need to look into getting new PC guts.

I apologize for wasting everyone's time and bandwidth.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but this certainly does not indicate that you're a slacker.

Unless you're violating the EULA and manipulating the files, you can't be considered responsible for this "bad" data. Under normal circumstances, a WU may be reissued if you fail to return it, but if it has been completed successfully, whether or not it has been uploaded yet, the same WU should not be reissued to you. If we can figure out why this happened, it's possible we can get the Pande Group to fix the problem.

Howdy,

Sorry for not paying attention to this thread. No, the only file I ever open is the log. I think I copied it at that time using CTRL+C then CTRL+V in Winblows Exploder. I'm nearly sure it had to be either an operator error or a lockup caused by another program since I do not believe that I have had this issue repeat itself. A professional application that I use for work is notorious for not behaving or playing well with others. I now shut down F@H when I know Altium is going to hog the CPU. Though I may have shut down the computer improperly or tried to start another instance of F@H. Could it have been an ISP related corruption or something else? I'm only shotgun troubleshooting.
