Hello
After installing FahMon to monitor my vanilla 9600GSO, I was surprised to learn that on average each WU earns me about 400 points.
Excuse me for being nub, but when people say the 9600GSO gets, what, maybe 4000 PPD, what does that actually mean? Does it mean I would earn 4000 points if that WU was completed in 24 hours??
Thanks for clearing this up

Re: What is PPD?
PPD
Points per day. It means that if you were running that work unit, or one very similar to it, continuously, for 24 hours you would generate 4000 points.
If it is a 400 point WU,
FahMon is telling you that you should complete it in 24hours X 60 minutes / 10 = 144 minutes.
If you continued to receive very similar WU, you should finish about 10 in a 24 hour day for 4000 PPD

Re: What is PPD?
Hi, thanks, I knew what PPD stood for I just didn't understand the math behind it, thanks for clearing it up.
So FahMon is telling me that Project 5753 is worth 511 points in credit, and that my total PPD is 2241.14.
Is this normal?

Re: What is PPD?
here is a general chart on past WU
viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7396#p73319
Larger atom WU have been getting fewer points of late.
Factors include WU, your CPU that is supporting the GPU, OS, the specific type of card you have (NV was changing names, re branding etc. so its hard to know exactly the type from 9600GSO)
But in general that sounds about right.

Re: What is PPD?
The average WU may be 400 points at the moment, but over time, assignments change. The data being used by FahMon comes from the Project Summary (there's a link at the top of this page) which lists each active project and its characteristics.3DNow!plz wrote:After installing FahMon . . .
