As far as I know FahMon isn't tracked by the ubuntu repositories.

You can update using the same method you used to originally install FahMon, the process will just overwrite all the necessary files.

I've been getting p2671 WUs, for example, Project: 2671 (Run 24, Clone 12, Gen 21).
So far all of the Gen 21 WUs that I have run have had 249999 steps, instead of 250000 or 250001steps.
The unitinfo.txt for these is 168278KB.
FahMon seems to choke on these very badly.
I am using FahMon 2.3.3svn.

I'll be glad to see the end of p2671, Gen21...

That's an old unsupported build. Currently I don't produce nightly (Windows) builds form the SVN repository, would it be useful if I did?

Thanks uncle_fungus, I didn't really expect you to support 2.3.3svn any more,
and I do appreciate the work that you have done in supporting and furthering FahMon.
More so I was just trying to add some information relative to unitinfo.txt size.
Sorry for the OT.

However... I do like 2.3.3svn (and earlier build(s) because it will run from its own directory.)
Nice and neat and it fits my needs very well.
If you could fix this it would be great, at least for me. :)
I'm not sure what producing nightly builds from the SVN repository entails,
but if if would fix the above glitch, I think it would be useful.

This is already fixed in SVN.

I've checked out an SVN (Dec 4th I think it was), compiled it cleanly on Windows Vista 32-bit, and moved it into my FAHMON folder.

The WUs that have the number of steps ending in a 1 still project the ETA and PPD incorrectly.

Currently have one running with 500001 steps and it's ETA starts off by approximately 10 hours (longer) and the PPD are around half what they should be. As the WU progresses the ETA slowly decreases but the PPD remain the same or varies slightly which is probably caused by variations in frame times.

Was wondering if there was some file I should have deleted when I moved in the new .exe file :?:

Also, when I first start it the downloading new projects window pops up and although that's not a problem for me I don't recall it doing that on the released version. Maybe it was so fast before it was not noticable :?:

I experienced a problem with 2.3.4 yesterday. It takes inordinately long to load clients. Two VM instances were reported hung due to the VM clock being out of sync. FAHmon tracked progress correctly but would not load the log. The computer became unresponsive and a check of Task Manager revealed FAHmon was using 100% of one core. On the good side, 2.3.4 doesn't crash nearly as often as 2.3.2b in XP x64. However, I've reverted to 2.3.2b until I know what's going on.

I have the same problem on Vista 32 and FAHMon 2.3.4. FAHMon using 100% of one core and taking a long time load the 23 clients located on the network. Even after the clients are loaded, the 'Log not loaded!' message is the only thing in the WU log window.

Interesting. Can you post a copy of the message log after you've started FahMon and let it load all your clients please?

I'm seeing the same thing: It seems to show up after an extended amount of time continiously running. I gave up on trying to sync and just tell it to ignore syncing. This is using Server 2008 with two Ubuntu VM's under hyper-V

I reverted to 2.3.2b but I did create a Dump file if you could use that. (103,031 KB in size)
If you have Xfire I can send it that way.

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

Post by ChasR »

I reinstalled 2.3.4 on my XP x64 system.
Loading all my clients (37) took about 5 minutes. For four of those minutes, cpu load was 100% of one core. On each reload (every 5 minutes) cpu usage returns to 100% of one core, falling to zero after a several minutes. FAHmon reports log not loaded for most clients for about 2 minutes after each reload.

bollix47 wrote:The WUs that have the number of steps ending in a 1 still project the ETA and PPD incorrectly.

Currently have one running with 500001 steps and it's ETA starts off by approximately 10 hours (longer) and the PPD are around half what they should be. As the WU progresses the ETA slowly decreases but the PPD remain the same or varies slightly which is probably caused by variations in frame times
This should now be fixed in SVN.

Used the following to get new SVN:

svn export http://svn.fahmon.net/trunk fahmon

Verified that the fahmon build folder does contain the new checkout.

Rebuilt successfully and moved new(checked date and time and it was new) exe to my FAHMON folder.

Sorry, to say but there was no difference in the projections. Still as described above except the current WU has 250001 steps.
