stats suggestion
hello. I'm hoping possibly someone could add some features to the stats that can break down my personal stats by machine or processor. Only the ps3 shows me how many i've done on screen, i cant see in my stats how my other 4 computers break down

Re: stats suggestion
Actually if you have the console versions, it will tell you every time you complete a WU how many it has done in total, not sure how to check otherwise.

Re: stats suggestion
there is some type of indetification for the cpu transmitted with the results yes? maybe on the personal stats web page like http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... pazzychalk there could be a button you can click to see it? or see total and then the breakdown under it?

Re: stats suggestion
I get what you're saying. I've seen some BOINC projects display these kind of stats. FAH doesn't make that level of detail available for public reporting. They do however, get information about the machine id (the FAH unique identifier) and the CPU/ OS running the client. I reckon they're kinda short handed developing web interfaces for these stats. Maybe they could provide non-confidential information like this to a 3rd party stats site willing to house it.

Re: stats suggestion
how big of a change would it be to add them to the site we already use now? if the data is already there, just some small bit of code in the web page to retreive it?

Re: stats suggestion
The 3rd party software section of this forum has some handy tools that may be helpful like FahMon and others. They don't track much in the way of past contributions, but are excellent for monitoring current production and can as you requested "break down my personal stats by machine or processor".
As I understand it the optimization and tracking of the folding clients by each specific machine's exact cpu/gpu/OS/etc. is planned for the future but is understandably not a current high priority.

Re: stats suggestion
Not small. Code is easy, server horse power is not. Current stats updates are only scheduled every three hours, and that's just to update the limited info currently shown. Some screens are only updated twice a day.spazzychalk wrote:how big of a change would it be to add them to the site we already use now? if the data is already there, just some small bit of code in the web page to retreive it?
If you want individual tracking, your best options are as mentioned above. Use a 3rd party tool to monitor your clients.

Re: stats suggestion
it seems mine updates much more frequently than that. so much so that its annoying and hinders my getting the stats because of the downtime screen

Re: stats suggestion
If you want to monitor multiple FAH client over the Internet, try FCI.
It tracks individual clients, and intergrates the Stanford and EOC stats.

Re: stats suggestion
Actually i do have another suggestion for stats.
Can we remove WU statistics? For each user we can see practically how many WUs he completed, I think most people don't use it for anything useful (mods here can check for us if anything) and it takes up alot of space/memory on server, so why not ditch it (possibly putting this in place )

like i said about how often the stats update. i havent seen my stats once today. every time i check its updating. how about ditching the updating page, and leaving the old page up with a little note saying last updated: ..... or not if its too much draw just leave it sitting as is

Re: stats suggestion
Good luck waiting for that change, you're better off using the 3rd party stats:
