Pausing Work while user is active?

Hi, I'm a recent convert from SETI@home on the BOINC client. It had a simple setting to pause work while the computer is in use, then wait a few minutes before restarting.

I cant seem to find that option in the f@h Control Panel. There is "core priority" which of course makes the work the lowest priority of any program being executed by the CPU, but im looking to pause the work completely.

I have looked through some FAQ's, done some Googling, and searched these forums but cant seem to turn up much.

I imagine the answer is very simple, and im probably such using the wrong wording, or am missing a setting hiding somewhere. But if someone could just detail how to achieve this, that would be great.

Why would you want to pause it completely ? Running at lowest priority allow the client to release CPU power whenever an application require it ...

By the way, if you have the Systray client, there is an option to pause/resume work (right click on the tray icon).

I appreciate your reply, and as i pointed out in the parent, i understand the purpose of the "low priotity" option.
I'm also aware of the option to pause and resume.
I do have a good reason, but i am simply interested if what i asked is possible?

The FAH client dies not monitor the other activities on the computer so it cannot automatically enter a paused state. It does monitor laptop battery v. mains use and pauses/resumes for that so I'm not sure if an enhancement like that couldn't be added. Unfortunately there are many enhancement requests and generally the only ones they find the resources to implement are ones which improve the scientific throughput.

Some Windows users have programmed it themselves by adding FAH as a scheduled task. Windows can stop a task when the computer becomes active and resume it when it's idle for xx minutes. For most people, though, the priority setting gives more FAH throughput with minimal impact on other activities. Can you really tell the difference?
