Just a quick update. On my humble little laptop, folding with the AMBER core, I am now doing 251 points per day according to FahSpy as I type this message.

Re: Points per day on laptops
My T61 running Ubuntu 7.10 under VMware and XP Pro is getting 2329.89ppd on project 2669.
I run it 24/7 with little hit to laptop performance.

Re: Points per day on laptops
This thread has been sitting dormant for awhile so I'll restart it.
I just got GPU2 running on my Thinkpad T61p. It's running the T9300 and the Nvidia Quadro FX 570M graphics card. Running XP SP3, I'm getting 1998ppd with Ubuntu & SMP under Vmware (p2268) and 1195ppd (p5013) with the GPU2 client for a total of 3194ppd total.
Before installing GPU2 I was getting about 2200ppd under SMP. I was pretty surprised at the GPU2 performance. I tried it a couple months ago and with all the gpu instability problems it wouldn't run at all, but it's working fine now with the 1.19 client.
None of this effects the usability of the laptop except that it's a bit warm in my lap. The cpu's are at 76 and the GPU at 79.

Re: Points per day on laptops
I have a Dell Vostro 1500 with a Intel Core 2 Duo T5270 @ 1.4Ghz running Windows XP.
I get about 550 PPD on Windows SMP
If I run "notfred"'s linux distro , I get about 900 - 1200 PPD depending on work unit.
I have my laptop on a Zalman Laptop Cooler and CPU temps are 56C at 100% load on both cores.
I have ordered a T9300 @ 2.5ghz and will get that installed in a few weeks. That should boost my PPD a good amount.

Which model Zalman do you have? How is the noise level?I have my laptop on a Zalman Laptop Cooler and CPU temps are 56C at 100% load on both cores.
I'm very impressed with the the T9300, I think you'll be very pleased.I have ordered a T9300 @ 2.5ghz and will get that installed in a few weeks. That should boost my PPD a good amount.

Re: Points per day on laptops
Running the SMP Gromacs client on a Core Duo T2600 (2.16GHz). PPD = 615 and temperature of both CPU cores is over 80 degrees Celsius.
live2code2live
4x 8800 GT = 21,000 PPD
4x 8800 GT = 21,000 PPD
