Is there any way for users of F@H to select the WU that want to run on their computers?

No, not explicitly!

However, to some extent you can simply by picking the client -- SMP/Uni-processor/ATI GPU/NVidia GPU all run different WU's. There is also a limited ability to filter WU's based on -advmethods and the size of the allowed WU.

No you can't select the WU you'll get.

But you can indicate your preference : Small WU, Normal WU, Big WU with the possibility to request more experimental WU (-advmethods flag). The memory reported by your client and the CPU detection will also help to find the WU that fits better to your machine.

Keep in mind that's only a preference : if nothing fits all your preferences, the server will assign something it thinks it's the best for you or the project science.

Tnx for your informations.I currently run GPU2 client along with SMP 6.22 Beta 2r3.I asked this q about WU selection cause I red about the new WU (4742-4747) with 1254 atoms and I wondered if it's possible to pick this WU to run in my computer.But since my client select the WUs itself I added the -advmethods on additional client parameters hoping that the next WU will be one of the new one.
