Lost Work Unit. (If found please credit :)

Post by rogsmart »

Hi folks,

A little help here for the befuddled folder if you would be so kind. Folding with SMP 5.91 and the work units are being sent and accepted but not showing up in stats. Before I clear out the F@H folder to install the newly released SMP beta I'd like to see if I can get credited for a couple of these work units. This machine doesn't appear to be showing up on Stanford's stats at all. The only machine that shows up in stats is my single processor machine. I'll try an cut and paste the relevant portions of the log below. Let me know if you need additional info or log files. Thanks in advance for your help.

There are some older units that suffered the same fate disappearing into the maw of Stanford's servers never to be seen again (by me at any rate) and a 2653 that is going complete in few hours and will be the last one I run before switching over to the new SMP beta. Thanks again.

Client.cfg is corrupted. Notice your user name and team# is missing on the restart. Did you edit the client.cfg file with a text editor? You'll need to use the -config flag to redo it.

ChelseaOilman,

I knew I was missing something obvious. But obviously it wasn't obvious to me what I was missing. Thanks for putting a sharp pair of eyes to the problem.

On the secondary point, am I just hosed for getting credited for the old work units? If I am out the points it isn't really a big deal. I think a cold beer will nicely distract me from the ephemeral pain of a few thousand lost points.

Anyway I'll try the -config flag for the unit that is about to finish. Thanks again.

Stop the client and run the -configonly flag before it finishes and you will get credit for it.

Never mind, I think I missed your deadline. Ctrl + C to stop the SMP client. No need to reinstall.
