Why can't I do more than 1 WU at a time?
Every time I try to start folding, only one WU is done at a time and the second one is stuck on Assign Wait. How do I fix this?

One WU per device only.Swooferfan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 02, 2026 3:52 am Every time I try to start folding, only one WU is done at a time and the second one is stuck on Assign Wait. How do I fix this?
If you want to fold more you have to have more devices in that computer which can fold.
One WU for your CPU, one for GPU.
Since my mind reading is strong this year, I guess you have a CPU folding, while your GPU of some kind is not getting any work.
When you ask the question on internet, for the love of Sam's alter ego, do not ask generic question that your stuff don't work.
Be specific, what system specs you are running, what OS, drivers, everything. None of us here have any idea what you are actually running, until you tell us.
Help us to help you
Re: Why can't I do more than 1 WU at a time?
My own mind reading suggests me that this user complains about next consecutive work unit being stuck on "assign wait". I might be very wrong though
Swooferfan, could you please describe the issue you are having in detail?

The second WU keeps failing. IDK why.

You still have not given us anything to look at to possibly identify what is not working. At the least we would need to know which OS you are running on, what version of the folding client, and be able to see what settings you have made to the client. The last would be shown by posting the beginning section of your client log. You might want to read through the Welcome to the Forum topic - viewtopic.php?t=26036. That includes sections on how to get help, how to find and post your log file, and general tips on troubleshooting. Some items need updating for the v8 client, but most of the info in that set of posts is still valid.

I'm running v8.4.9 on CachyOS, my settings are 12 threads on my Ryzen 5 7600X, and both my RX 9070 XT GPU and Radeon iGPU are enabled.

Which work unit IS running? I suspect that your CPU is folding, and the issue lies with detection of the GPU and/or iGPU.
Fold them if you get them!

Ah, you see, now we are not guessing what is happening to your folding system. Since you decided to run Arch based distro, I assume you know your way around Linux. What you need to do is to download rocm-opencl-runtime as well as rocm-hip-runtime and ocl-icd loader (whichever is available for CachyOS). Once you install those you probably be able to fold on your GPU as well as a CPU. So 2 WUs at the same timeSwooferfan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 04, 2026 2:04 pm I'm running v8.4.9 on CachyOS, my settings are 12 threads on my Ryzen 5 7600X, and both my RX 9070 XT GPU and Radeon iGPU are enabled.

So that will also fix the issue of the WUs failing?

Re: Why can't I do more than 1 WU at a time?
Probably if they have been failing due to the missing OpenCL libraries. That info would show up in the log files that you still haven't posted anything from. You can copy/paste from the log window of the Web Control or go directly to the log files which are stored in the same directory as was used by the v7 client.
Oh, and your 7600X only supports 12 CPU threads total. You should set the thread count to less than that if you also want to fold on a GPU, one thread less per GPU present.
