Hi. I've been folding using several Windows machines for years. One of my machines was running Win10 and couldn't upgrade to Win11, so I decided to move to Linux on that box. I chose Ubuntu because, being a Debian derivative, I thought it would be my best bet to getting folding - which is the only reason this machine runs. I installed Ubuntu 24.04 with the proprietary nVidia drivers (580 series), and I installed the 8.4.9 F@H client using the .deb file from the F@H site. I could get the machine to fold for about 5 or 10 minutes, but then it would fail. I decided to install the 8.5.4 beta hoping a bug had been resolved, but I'm getting the same result.
I get the following WARNINGS:
04:30:46:W :WU60:Visualization topology too large, disabling visualization
04:30:46:W :WU60:Visualization size exceeded at frame 0, no more frames will be loaded
And the following ERRORS:
04:32:24:E :WU65:Core returned BAD_WORK_UNIT (114)
04:35:08:E :WU66:Core was killed
04:35:08:E :WU66:Core crashed with exit code 0
04:35:08:E :WU66:Core returned FAILED_1 (0)
04:36:57:E :WU67:Core returned BAD_WORK_UNIT (114)
04:38:06:E :WU68:Core returned BAD_WORK_UNIT (114)
04:39:33:E :WU69:Core returned BAD_WORK_UNIT (114)
The WU # changes, but the result always looks like this. A lot of BAD_WORK_UNITs, Core was killed, Core crashed with exit code 0, and Core returned FAILED_1 (0).
Can anyone suggest where to look to get me going? Thanks in advance!

Re: Folding Failing on Ubuntu 24.04
Hello
Regarding the errors, if they happen at startup, 0% folding, when running core 26/27 it's due to a library issue that was discussed in this forum. Just run
Cheers
This is completely normal, it means the protection against memory leak of the viewer was triggered.04:30:46:W :WU60:Visualization topology too large, disabling visualization

Thank you. I'll give this a shot.
I apologize for asking an already answered question. I don't think I knew enough about what was going wrong to even perform a meaningful search.
I appreciate your help.
Sincerely,
Aldur
