EOC Folding stats gone for good?
When the Amazon cloud servers went down October 20th, I noticed that I could not connect to https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com or any of the sub-pages.
I assumed that EOC was being hosted by one of the Amazon servers.. no biggie, I'll just wait.
But Amazon says everything is up and running... and still, I cannot get my EOC Folding stats.
Anyone have any news? Or talked to Jason?

I am connected to EOC right now, and have been for the last month or longer without problems. That includes having my stats showing up in the signature here which uses EOC. As far as I know EOC is not on AWS, Jason was using his own server in a colocated server hosting company near him. That has been moved to a server instance with the same company.
The best I can guess is that if you are using a DNS connected with AWS is that it may not have updated properly and is not resolving the address.

In his latest post on that page he mentions battling web scrapers. So it is possible a lot of IPs are being falsely banned

I did some more poking around, a number of the usual public DNS servers are not resolving extremeoverclocking.com. My connection may be from a cached DNS result from sometime in the recent past. Hard to diagnose further, I have various DNS settings on my systems and router.

Thanks for the comments.
I see there is a thread about this in the Server section so I posted there.
Basically, I think my ISP (Optimum) is on Jason's 'naughty' list and is being blocked.
I installed a VPN browser extension for Firefox. It works.. but I would rather not use
it.

I can't speak for anybody else, but site access is fine for me now. I hadn't even sent Jason an email yet. Maybe he was still tweaking some things or the DNS issues cleared up.
Fold them if you get them!
Re: EOC Folding stats gone for good?
Note that he did change servers and host too if I remember correctly. So cached DNS would have been a problem.

Re: EOC Folding stats gone for good?
From his postings on EOC, he is using the same hosting company. But before he had his own server in a colocation setup and has changed to paying for. a server instance. The server company gave him the option of shipping his server back. He chose just to have the drives shipped back as the server was old and obsolete. The drives mounted up just fine in the RAID controller he had at home, so he also has a backup of the original database before copying it over to the new instance.
