8.4.9 freezing my pc

I've been folding for 15yrs without any issues. I loaded 8.4.9 a week ago but it freezes my 4060 i5 pc if I try to work and fold. All I can do is wait until the project finishes as I normally 'finish' or switch off the pc then it dumps the project, just lost 4 million points with an egg timer on the project list.

I've tried reducing the number of CPU cores.

Some simple instructions, say one short paragraph would be useful. I don't want anything sophisticated as it's always been a background app.

I seem to have lost my old forum account as well, but no worries about that.

On Windows, you currently need to pause folding before logout or shutdown to avoid likely dumping of work.
