v.4.8.9. don not accept passkey

Post by Treuâhwilg »

Hello,

A few days ago I switched from the old Folding@home program version v7.6.21 to version v4.8.9. I used my old v7.6.21 passkey for bonus points, but the V4.8.9. doesn't accept it. How can I fix this?

How old is it?
Passkey is expected to be 30-32 hexadecimal characters now.

You can only have one web control account with a particular passkey in settings.

And the password for the web control account is not the same as your passkey.

There is a Users Guide available on the download page for the v8 client. Strongly suggest reading through it.

I removed/deleted old v7 before I installed the new one

About password and passkey difference I know. Maybe I have missing some lines. Up to installation 2.

If you had installed v8.4.9 over the v7 client it would have read the old config.xml file and transferred in your username, team and passkey settings. The same if you uninstalled v7 and left the data files behind.

How does "doesn't accept it" manifest to you?
Client refuses to save the pasted passkey?
Client count points without bonus?
Client counts points to a different user than before?
Are you sure you did not make a mistake when typing it in, or copy/pasting? Sometimes some spaces get copied in front or at the end of the passkey, which will throw things off
