You could try restarting the client (service)

I know.
Just want to know is there any limit on retries in 8.4.9.
I'm running remote workstation and not watching the client. 7.6 had no problems with dropping the downloading process and getting new assignment. Looks like 8.4.9 don't want to drop downloading.

I think there is no limit. The retry delay increases to a limit but I think that is hours.

If you install the debug build the log might be more helpful.

I have a Hawaii with irregular work, I've seen it try for about 24 hours (and not stop) - well it did, it got a workunit. IT goes up to 8 mins and tries a lot at 8 mins, so I guess it's done it anti hammer thing and will keep going.
