While playing a 10-ish year old game (Destiny 2), my PC will frequently chug and practically stall if I have FAH running. I haven't changed settings so I'm wondering if I need to adjust something to prevent this. Some relevant stats:
- Ryzen 7800X3D CPU
- 32GB DDR5 RAM
- 4070 Ti Super
- Not much stuff running in bkg besides Wallpaper Engine, which is already set to dial back resource usage if I'm in a game
- FAH set to use 15 of 16 CPUs and only my board's built-in GPU, a gfx1036
Let me know if you need more details. Thanks for any help.

It is generally bad idea to fold while playing games. Pause FAH before you do any intensive stuff on your CPU or GPU

Awe that's a bummer. I folded while gaming since ~ May when I built my new PC (with the specs originally listed), and I never had this chugging before, even with Wallpaper Engine running too. Oh well.

You might try folding with cpus set to 9

Any folding while gaming affects frame times significantly. However if people are not sensitive to inconsistent frame times they don't even notice that.

Folding and gaming can work. Even Folding + VR works fine with a 5600G and Arc B570 if CPU folding is turned off or down. With some games if there are stuttering issues I change CPU affinity in Task Manager to prefer all cores except the first and last two and that will sometimes help.

You can do whatever you like, it is a personal preference and does not harm the project in any way, except when GPU folding whole folding and system locks up due to some driver time out or something.
Other than that it is purely personal comfort.
I personally cannot play games at inconsistent frame times, so I pause my folding while gaming. Other people are fine with 10fps minimums, and it is ok
